Art
Welcome to Art at Antheil Elementary School!
Ms. Gillian Brindle & Ms. Dianna Vento
Art class is a fun and engaging space where young students are introduced to the basics of art and creativity. The focus is on building foundational skills, developing imagination, and expressing oneself through various artistic mediums. Our classes usually cover a wide variety of activities, including drawing, painting, and exploring color, texture, shape, and form.
The lessons are designed to encourage creativity and self-expression while teaching students about the elements of art, such as line, shape, color, space, texture, and value. Techniques are taught in a simple, accessible way, often with hands-on projects that allow children to experiment with different materials like crayons, markers, watercolors, and paper.
In addition to creating art, students are introduced to art history and famous artists, helping them to connect their own creations with the broader world of visual art. We emphasizes fun, exploration, and the process of creating rather than focusing solely on the final product.
Overall, the aim is to foster a love for creativity, build confidence in artistic abilities, and provide students with the tools and knowledge to express themselves through art.
